BLACK SUN PRODUCTIONS AND BAHNTIER - ENOERAEW

BLACK SUN PRODUCTIONS is the project of MASSIMO & PIERCE a duo of producers and performers based in Zurich, Switzerland, former members of COIL live and creators of Plastic Spider Thing Show. Black Sun Productions discography features an array of guest artists such as COIL, LYDIA LUNCH, HR GIGER and many others. They have been collaborating with STEFANO ROSSELLO (:BAHNTIER//, DETUNE-X, kETvECTOR) on a number of projects since 2006 and ENOERAEW is the first full length album as a trio. Tracks produced over the years were reworked and brand new pieces recorded in Spring 2009 at the Anarcocks Home Studio in Zurich. The album was then mixed and produced by Stefano in Italy. In ENOERAEW Massimo & Pierce's experimentalism meets Bahntier's electro-industrial-dance, hypnotic arrangements for an oneiric and poetic journey into the realms of Ritual Music. The themes of Love and Desire, Magic and Death are here insightfully investigated and the result is an aural experience of electronica, melodies and acoustic instruments melting into a tantalizing new genre. The album contains the cover song of Sweet Home Under White Clouds by Virgin Prunes. Artwork by Alessia Catanuto.

PIER PAOLO PASOLINI was an Italian director, screen writer, essayist, poet, critic and novelist. He was best known outside of Italy for his films, many of which were based on literary sources: The Gospel According to Saint Matthew, The Decameron, The Canterbury Tales, Salo or The 120 Days of Sodom. He often used shocking juxtapositions of imagery to expose what he saw as the vapidity of values in modern society.
This compilation is a musical tribute to one of the most influential and respected Italian artists of the 20th century, including unreleased and rare songs from artists such as COIL, :BAHNTIER//, SPIRITUAL FRONT, AH CAMA SOTZ, IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES, BLACK SUN PRODUCTIONS, ALIO DIE, TEATRO SATANICO and many others.

After the limited release of the single ROOTS (available only through the RUSTBLADE website) STEFANO ROSSELLO, FILIPPO CORRADIN and JUSTIN BENNETT give us the long awaited new full-length album.

VENAL represents another large step forward in the evolution of the band, characterized by a genre crossing post-industrial blend of progressive electronics, harsh ebm-like aggressiveness, cyber-punk flavors, and symphonic psychedelic noise. The album is clear evidence of the writing ability and eclectic influences of this Italian cult band, able to take us from an obscurely accessible hit song all the way to experimental and suffering paranoid atmospheres.
The sound of the disc expands the horizons of the RUSTBLADE label and serves to highlight the band with it’s own definitive identity and originality. Helped along by the optimum production of JUSTIN BENNETT and song writing of STEFANO ROSSELLO, VENAL is sure to be one of the most highly anticipated genre-defying alternative albums of the year.

Guests for this outing include WILLIAM MORRISON (AMERICAN MEMORY, ohGr) offering guitar sounds and the notorious underground painter SATURNO BUTTO providing artwork. Garnering fevered attention from the alternative press, this release is absolutely not to be missed!
